Ok, I have a kind of offthe wall question for you guys. I have an acquaintance that has a 92 Galant VR4 that upgraded his injectors again and he has his old 450cc's going to waste. He said if they'd fit I can have them.
Instead of going through the trouble of driving out to get them, pull one out and try to test fit it and play with the wiring, I wanted to ask you guys if you knew whether it could be done.
OK, the Galant VR4, for those who arent familiar, is basicaly an eclipse GSX in a galant body. Its an AWD, AWS 2.0L turbocharged DSM.
I have a Prelude with the H22A1... the stock injector size is... I dunno. Not enough.
So... am I insane for even asking since these two cars are so different? Or might I be able to make this work? Hell, they're free, so why not.
Thanks guys!!!
Todd

i believe that DSM injectors are low impedance...
if so, it won't work with honda ecus... unless you've got a pre-obd ecu...
you'll need resistor packs in order to use them....

ok.. how would the resistor pack work.. and would it actually work without too many problems? If I'm going to have to EXTREME rig it, then its not worth it... if it could be done without the help of a rocket scientist, then cool, I'll try it. And its an OBD1 ecu btw.

The size of the injectors on your prelude are either 290cc or 340cc depending on the year of your motor.
The galant uses 450cc peak & hold injectors. Most likely the Prelude uses saturated. You can't put peak & hold injectors into a car that has saturated or you'll fry the injector drivers on the ECU.
Like turbogsr said, you'll need to modify a resistor pak to get it work properly but I don't know how to do it. If you find out a way, let me know.

Todd,
First things first: your OE injectors are 330cc. I believe that the Impedence (OHM reading) is a very low number... say between 1.5 and 2.5 ohm.
You need to check two things: compare the ohm readings of your OE injectors to the ones from the Galant. Second, compare the injector wiring plugs to see if they will match up... if not, you will have to modify your wiring harness by splicing in the plugs from the Mitsu.
Good luck.

Sorry to stray from the topic, but will the OE Prelude 330cc (year/model???) injectors fit on a '99 GS-R without problems?
Thanks

Corrrect 93-96 Lude injectors(H22A) impedence should between 1.5-2.5ohm. RC rated my old pair('93) at 320cc.
Remember, that the Lude comes with a Injector resistor(which lowers the current supplied to the injectors).
Like Jim said, you will need to double the check the impedence of the Mitsu inj. I pretty sure they should work. Good luck dialing them bad boys down. I think 450cc maybe overkill(but I'm no expert).....I'm thinking 370cc or 400cc would be perfect for your application.

yeah, 410cc would be more along the line of what I want to run... but who the hell's gonna argue with free? If it runs worse than before, I yank 'em out.
